On 31st Oct. 2007, as part of a 2-day project on space and space travel, Year 9 students from The Northicote School participated in a video link-up with Dr. Matthew Kenworthy, an astronomer working at the University of Arizona in Tucson, USA. During the interview, students asked Dr. Kenworthy about his research, his life in the USA, and about “hot topics” such as the Moon Landing “hoax”, life on other planets, and the future of the Sun and our Solar System.

Dr. Kenworthy very kindly agreed to speak to the students at 7 a.m. in Arizona (2 p.m. GMT).

Pendeford Business and Enterprise College - School developments podcast

Our Lady and St. Chad’s Podcast - Olympics 2012

Today, Year 9 students from Our Lady and St. Chad’s Catholic Sports College visited the CLC to create a podcast based the London 2012 Olympics. The topics covered in the podcast includes:

  • The ways London will change in preparation for the Games.
  • The city of London and the diversity of its people.
  • The meaning of the Olympic rings
  • The healthy diet of atheletes

The podcast also includes a description of a recent exchange visit between the school and schools in Uganda.

Story Genres - Aldersley High Y7 English podcast - 21st June 2007

Today, Year 7 students from Aldersley High School have created an English podcast on the features of different story genres. The genres they cover in the podcast are:

  • Adventure
  • Fantasy
  • Romance
  • Horror

For each genre, they cover the characters, plot devices, writing style and locations that typically feature in stories belonging to that genre. The podcast also features a short horror radio play.
