Grove Primary Art Gallery Project - 10th / 11th July 2007
Yesterday, a group of Year 6 students from Grove Primary visited Wolverhampton Art Gallery. They were accompanied around the gallery by Art Interpreters from the Education Team at the the gallery. They also used a PDA tour, written by the CLC in collaboration with the Art Gallery, to explore the Georgian Gallery. The tour challenged the student with a number of interactive exercises to try to understand the symbolism and composition of paintings by artists such as Gainsborough, Edward Turner and Fuseli.
Today, the students attended a follow-up session at the CLC. During the session, students:
- created their own portrait using images taken, in costume, at the art gallery. (See the online gallery of some of the images)
- took part in an interactive web quiz.
- recorded narrations for several of the paintings they saw at the art gallery for inclusion into a virtual, 3D version of the gallery in MissionMaker.
- recorded a theme song / audio reflections of the experience for inclusion in the virtual gallery
