Yesterday, Year 3 and Year 4 students from Field View Primary School visited Wolverhampton Art Gallery. They were accompanied around the gallery by Art Interpreters from the Education Team at the the gallery. They also used a PDA tour, written by the CLC in collaboration with the Art Gallery, to explore the Georgian Gallery. The tour challenged the student with a number of interactive exercises to try to understand the symbolism and composition of paintings by artists such as Gainsborough, Edward Turner and Fuseli.
Today, the students attended a follow-up session at the CLC. During the session, students:
- created their own portrait, combining together images taken (in costume) at the Art Gallery with backgrounds. (See the online gallery for the results).
- took part in an interactive web quiz
- recorded narrations for several of the paintings they saw at the art gallery for inclusion into a 3D version of the gallery in MissionMaker.

Always well organised. Every second of the day is planned. We’ve had a great 2 days - exhausting, but everyone has learned lots, stayed focussed and had fun too! The visit to the art gallery is such an enriching process for our children.

On the 27th of june i had the bestest trip i have ever been to.The bestest part was the computers and the part where we had to pick a piture and put myself in it it was great fun on the 26th of june when we went to the art gallary that was fun to i loved the dressing up that was was the best and i loved P.D.A thoes were fantastic.
