St. Edmund’s Digital Imaging with Fireworks - 24th / 25th April 2007

filed under Session Reports April 25th, 2007 Richard Anderson

jade2Two groups of Year 10 students from St. Edmund’s Catholic School have visited the CLC over the last two days for introductory sessions to Adobe Fireworks. During the sessions, students have learned to use both the bitmap (photo) and vector editing tools of Fireworks to edit and combine digital images and to create simple logos. This work acted as a preparation for students to begin the Graphics module (D203) of their DiDA qualification in September.

Sample images from the sessions can be found in the this album in our gallery section:

Teacher feedback on the sessions:

Very Good. Pupils found the day interesting and useful for their DiDA course. Pupils now have a ready-made logo for their eportfolio and are ready to tackle Unit 3.

Interesting content that involved software that was new to the pupils. They were very engaged on the photo task and all achieved worthwhile results.
