Hi! Or should I say howdy?! Today is Wednesday, and I’m going to be setting off in about an hour’s time for my school. But I don’t feel as though I should be writing this just now. It still feels as though I’ve another week left until the chaos and confusion kicks in! When I found out that I had won the competition, and people had started to ask me when I was going to go, I had always answered, ‘October half-term,’ and I kept saying that to people. The next thing I know, I’m replying along the lines of, ‘Next Wednesday, we’re going to head off for London,’
Then just yesterday, I began to realise that I was not going to see my house for ten whole days. I sort of went crazy, and began to say good-bye to everything I saw - the paths in Cannock, the tree which the cuckoo bird sits on, the field with the ponies in - the steep stony path. Then I went sort of psycho, and began to say things like, ‘I’m not going to be eating with you again!’ My poor mum and little brother had expressions on their faces which resembled that of me leaving forever - and the way I was talking, it seemed as if I was. But I have been convinced ny various people that life goes fast in America, and before I know it I’ll be sitting on the plane back to Britain, thinking, ‘As soon as I get home, where shall I go next?’ My whole perspective will change, on nearly everything that I do and see when I go and come back.

(10/10/05) The City Learning Centre podcast is now online! Podcasting is a method of distributing audio files to computers and digital music players (e.g. an iPod) via the Internet.
The first tracks in the CLC podcast have been contributed by a group of Y10 music students from Colton Hills Community School. Over the course of a day at the CLC, the students assembled pieces of music in the Apple Macintosh software GarageBand. The tracks were exported as MP3 files and uploaded into the podcast.
